Short answer

FlySafair is tracked from its official luggage-policy page and linked Battery Guidelines. Power banks and spare lithium-ion batteries are not permitted in checked baggage and must be carried in hand/cabin luggage only. The linked FlySafair Battery Guidelines state lithium-ion batteries and power banks up to 100 Wh are permitted, 101 Wh to 160 Wh require express airline approval before travel, and above 160 Wh are not permitted for carriage.

Verdict impact

  • Airline rules are evaluated with the model capacity and exact route, not as a standalone approval.
  • Citations remain visible on verdict pages so travelers and agents can inspect the policy evidence.
  • Final airport acceptance still rests with airline and security staff.
