Short answer

Middle East Airlines is tracked from its official Electrical Items / Battery Driven Wheelchair restricted-items page, which exposes power-bank, spare-battery, lithium-ion, lithium-metal, smart-luggage, and mobility-aid handling. MEA states power banks under 100 Wh are accepted in cabin only and not in checked baggage. Spare non-spillable batteries are limited to two per person, not more than 12 V and 100 Wh, cabin only, and individually protected against short circuits. Lithium-ion batteries from 0-100 Wh, including power banks, are cabin-only and not checked baggage; 100-160 Wh lithium-ion batteries require MEA approval via Special Services and are not accepted in checked baggage. Mobility aids powered by battery are subject to approval, while power-driven wheelchairs checked as baggage require the battery to be disconnected, terminals insulated, and the battery securely attached.

Verdict impact

  • Airline rules are evaluated with the model capacity and exact route, not as a standalone approval.
  • Citations remain visible on verdict pages so travelers and agents can inspect the policy evidence.
  • Final airport acceptance still rests with airline and security staff.
